Street Law Info Session

Make the law come alive for area youth

Date & Time:

Wednesday, November 6, 2019
12:30 PM - 1:25 PM

MSL 244

Make the law come alive for youth - teach them about things that matter: their rights with respect to landlord-tenant law, student loans, criminal law, contracts, and more. Law students pair up and commit to teaching middle and high school students weekly during spring semester.

Volunteers work with the classroom teachers to identify the most relevant topics for their class. Street Law volunteers will attend a MANDATORY two-day training Saturday, January 18, 2020 - Sunday, January 19, 2020 where they will learn a variety of methods for teaching Street Law, meet attorneys interested in speaking to their classes, work on curriculum, and leave prepared to teach in the spring! Though you are responsible for the content of your sessions, there are many lesson plans and tools at your disposal.

Grab a friend and come to the information session to learn more about committing to making a difference in the lives of young people.

Please feel free to bring your lunch!
