The 2017 Fredrikson Law Firm Lecture, featuring Preet Bharara
Date & Time:
4:45 PM - 6:15 PM
1.5 standard CLE credits will be applied.
Preet Bharara, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, will give the Fredrikson Law Firm Lecture on Oct. 11, 2017, at the University of St. Thomas law school.
In March, The New York Times described Bharara as "one of the nation’s most aggressive and outspoken prosecutors of public corruption and Wall Street crime" when he was told to step down from his post during the presidential transition. He will speak at St. Thomas about why integrity and ethics matter in the 21st Century. Under Bharara's tenure, the office continued its long tradition of being at the forefront of prosecuting financial misconduct and public corruption.
Also participating in the conversation will be panelists Marianne Short, executive vice president and chief legal officer of UnitedHealth Group, and Ivan Fong, senior vice president and general counsel of 3M.
The Fredrikson Law Firm Lecture is presented annually by the University of St. Thomas Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions. The lecture series is named for John P. Byron, founder of the Fredrikson & Byron Law Firm.
