Kendra Brodin is the Director of Career and Professional Development at University of St. Thomas School of Law. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. She later earned her Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania where she served as President of the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly representing all 10,000 graduate and professional students. She earned her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Minnesota. Brodin also holds a Certificate in Advanced Leadership Studies from the University of St. Catherine and has received specialized education in personal coaching from the Institute for Life Coach Training.
In 2012, Brodin was awarded the Minnesota State Bar Association President’s Award for her work on an innovative statewide coaching program for new lawyers in the first three years of practice.
Prior to joining the University of St. Thomas, Brodin built a thriving private practice providing consulting for law firms, executive coaching for lawyers, and Continuing Legal Education programs for legal organizations on professional, career, and personal development topics such as creating individual development plans, retaining top legal talent, integrating work and personal life, enjoying deeper career satisfaction, demonstrating leadership skills, resolving conflict, and managing time and stress. Brodin also has previous experience in private legal practice and non-profit management.
Brodin has contributed professional development articles to national publications of the American Bar Association and the National Association of Women Lawyers.
Brodin holds leadership positions in the Minnesota legal community as a member of the Board of Directors of Minnesota Women Lawyers, a member of the Finance and Planning Committee of the Hennepin County Bar Association, and a Co-Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association Esquire 36 Steering Committee. She is also a mentor for women law students through Minnesota Women Lawyers.
Additionally, Brodin sits on the Board of Trustees of a national investment fund based in Chicago, volunteers as a Girl Scout Troop leader, and is a professional pianist and organist.
