Jesuit Volunteer Corps

Jesuit Volunteer Corps places 250 volunteers per year in domestic and international service locations to work full-time for justice and peace.  JVC's mission is to integrate Christian faith by working and living among the poor and marginalized, by living simply and in community with other JVs, and by examining the causes of social injustice.

Peace Corps

A program of the United States government, Peace Corps sponsors volunteers in 74 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, and the Middle East.  Collaborating with local community members, volunteers work in areas like education, youth outreach and community development, the environment, and information technology.

Lutheran Volunteer Corps

The mission of Lutheran Volunteer Corps  is to be a community of faith that unites people to work for peace with justice. LVC partners with 100 social justice organizations and ministries in twelve cities in the US.  Volunteers live together in intentional household communities of 4-7 people, deepen their spirituality, and encourage simple, sustainable living.

A ministry of the Church of the Brethren, Brethren Volunteer Service invites volunteers to share God's love through acts of service.  Major BVS goals are advocating justice, working for peace, serving basic human needs, and caring for creation.

A program of the United States government, AmeriCorps offers 75,000 opportunities each year to serve through a network of partnerships with local and national nonprofit groups.  Volunteers tutor disadvantaged youth, fight illiteracy, improve health services, build affordable housing, clean parks and streams, operate after-school programs, perform disaster relief, and build organizational capacity.
