Blackboard

Blackboard is St. Thomas' Learning Management System (LMS). With Blackboard students can:

  • Access assignments, presentations, and multimedia class materials
  • Engage in web-based learning activities
  • Easily link to external Web sites
  • Use the asynchronous discussion board to engage in discussion and to carry on the discussions after class
  • Work collaboratively and independently in small groups

Blackboard Courses
Every class at St. Thomas has a Blackboard class site automatically created, and all enrolled student accounts are automatically added into the class sites.

I don't see my course in Blackboard

Blackboard resources for a class do not appear if a student is not enrolled through Murphy Online or the class has not yet been entered into Blackboard. 

  • Verify you are registered for the course in Murphy Online
  • Courses for the following academic term do not get created in Blackboard until two weeks after the registration period ends
  • If you previously registered for a course, dropped it, and are now re-enrolling, please contact the Tech Desk

Add Blackboard to your Office 365 App Launcher

Murphy Online, PaperCut, and Blackboard are available in the Office 365 app launcher.

Take a few simple steps to add Murphy Online, PaperCut, and Blackboard to your Office 365 app launcher so you can easily access your course material, grades, and print balance right from your dashboard.

To add these tiles to the app launcher: 

  1. Login to Office365
  2. Choose the app launcher App launcher icon at the top of the screen
  3. Click on "View all my apps"
  4. Locate the app you want and hover over the tile to click on the triple dots  More
  5. Select "Pin to app launcher"
