Appellate Clinic Students give Oral Argument before the United States Court of Appeals

|

Chris Motz and Terry Schnurr, third-year students in the Appellate Clinic, will be traveling to San Francisco in April for oral argument before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Chris and Terry, under the supervision of Professor Greg Sisk, have prepared both opening and reply briefs in Patterson v. Schriro, a case involving a prisoner’s claims of denial of religious liberty rights and medical treatment and adequate nutrition.

After meeting with our Appellate Clinic partners from the University of Arkansas in Des Moines in March, two students – one from St. Thomas and one from Arkansas – will be selected to present the oral argument to the Ninth Circuit in open court in San Francisco on April 15.
