The Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions will be sponsoring an inaugural Lessons in Leadership panel presentation featuring a stellar panel of three leaders in the legal profession. The panel includes Chief Justice Christine Durham from the Utah Supreme Court, currently serving as Chair of the ABA Council of Legal Education, Laura Stein, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Clorox, and Sam Hanson, Vice President of Briggs and Morgan and former Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court.

The panelists will offer reflections on the following questions:

  1. What does it mean to be a “good leader”? What attributes are associated with a “good leader”?
  2. How would you describe your leadership style, or philosophy, or approach?
  3. How do you measure whether you are doing a good job as a leader?
  4. Has your leadership style, or philosophy, or approach changed in different contexts?
  5. Where and/or from whom did you learn your leadership style?
  6. Could you describe one or two experiences in which your leadership has been tested or where you “learned” something about how to be a leader?
  7. What advice do you have for students preparing to be leaders of the future?
