Health Services strives to provide passionate, high quality services in a caring environment that is affirming of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Preferred Name

Health Services must use your legal name on all medical records as medical records are considered a legal document. We strive to honor the identities of students by using personal gender pronouns and chosen names. Our electronic medical records systems has a section for preferred name and can be changed at any time by request.

Gender Identity

An individual’s birth sex is a state of anatomic and physiological parameters. Physiological changes are different between men and women. Medical conditions are often different between sexes. Required treatments and some laboratory test values are reported differently between sexes. Health Services will recognized your preferred gender, but will use your birth sex for legal medical documentation and treatment.
