It takes only minutes to protect yourself and those around you from getting the flu. When adequate numbers of our community becomes immunized against influenza we function like a firewall protecting even those who are not immunized against influenza. Epidemiological studies show that the elderly, who face the highest mortality risk from influenza, are best protected by vaccination of young individuals, who contribute to the highest disease transmission.

It takes about 2 weeks for antibodies to develop after receiving the flu shot.  Now is the time to protect yourself and others.

Flu shots are covered under the St. Thomas-sponsored Student Resources/UHC Health Insurance Plan for international students, the St. Thomas Blue Cross/Blue Shield employee plan, and by most health insurance companies. Cost of flu shots will be submitted to all health insurance plans.

The cost is $25 for those not covered by insurance.
