There is no specific major which is required for admission to medical, dental or other health professional schools.  Students are encouraged to choose a major based on their personal interests and abilities.  The University of St. Thomas offers a wide range of excellent majors, courses and opportunities which prepare students well for admission to various health-professional schools and future careers in health care. Many of these professional health programs or schools will require that certain courses, or pre-requisities be taken in order to qualify for admission. These pre-requisites vary by profession (and often by individual school), but can be taken as part of the major, core curriculum, or free electives towards graduation, thus allowing students flexibility with their choice of major.
