Yellow Ribbon Program for Graduate Students

The University of St. Thomas is proud to continue a long tradition of supporting veterans and military families by participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program.   Chapter 33 recipients at the 100% level are eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program throughout their remaining months/days of benefits.

The Veteran’s Administration (VA) will provide each Chapter 33 recipient attending a private college or university with a tuition and fee benefit of up to a set annual amount.  For the 2023-24 academic year (August 1, 2023 through July 31, 2024), the maximum benefit from the Chapter 33 Benefits from the VA is $27,120.05.   Once the maximum benefit amount of Chapter 33 benefit is reached the academic program at St. Thomas will cover 50% of the remaining tuition and fees through the Yellow Ribbon Program.  The VA will match this amount through the VA Yellow Ribbon Match Program.

Veterans at the Chapter 33 benefits 100% level will automatically be accepted into the Yellow Ribbon program.  There is no application required.  Also, the university’s participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program may be re-evaluated annually and the university may elect to change its funding commitment for this program or discontinue participation. Students awarded Yellow Ribbon benefits will continue to receive those benefits throughout their education at St. Thomas as long as they have remaining months/days of benefits.
