A little about me

I grew up near St. Paul in Maplewood, Minn., and attended North High School. At St. Thomas, I studied Communication and Journalism with a minor in Spanish (¡hola!), and I participated in clubs such as National Student Advertising Competition and Tutor-Mentor. Despite my Minnesota ties, I am deeply loyal to the Red Sox and Patriots. I enjoy getting outside to ski or play baseball, but I also love staying inside to play ping-pong or watch So You Think You Can Dance. I could watch stand-up comedy all day and hope to put together a solid 30 minutes of material one day.

Why I chose St. Thomas

When I visited St. Thomas in high school, people were more welcoming than at any other college. Its vibe was distinctly friendly and the campus was perfectly nestled between downtown St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis. I could go to concerts, plays, museums, and baseball games but return to a relaxing campus in a residential area. I also liked that St. Thomas was the largest private school in Minnesota. Since I'm an outgoing person, I wanted to meet many people and have a lot of opportunities for involvement. However, I still wanted small class sizes to work closely with professors and really enjoy my classes.

A word of advice when choosing a college

Don't feel pressured to have an "a-ha" moment when looking at colleges. The search process is stressful enough without the added expectation of discovering your dream school at first sight!
