City of Minneapolis Scholarship for Minneapolis High School Seniors

The University of St. Thomas annually awards eight full-tuition scholarships to residents of the city of Minneapolis who currently are enrolled as graduating seniors in a Minneapolis public or private high school. Seven scholarships are awarded to seven graduates from the eight public high schools in Minneapolis and one to a graduate from one of the four private high schools.

Applicants must be high school seniors during the 2013-2014 school year and residents of the city of Minneapolis.

By early April 2014, scholarship recipients will be notified of their selection. All applicants will be notified of the results. Scholarships are awarded to the applicants with the greatest financial need. If there are multiple applicants with identical financial need, other factors will be considered in selecting a recipient.

All eight scholarship recipients are guaranteed an award equal to tuition and required student fees at the University of St. Thomas until the recipient completes a baccalaureate degree program or the University of St. Thomas has defrayed the cost for 132 credits, whichever comes first, providing the recipient makes satisfactory academic progress. Scholarships and grants from other sources, including federal, state, institutional and private sources may be considered part of the total award. The City of Minneapolis Scholarship does not cover room and board costs, books or other personal expenses. Please note that there are several financing options available to help with these expenses.
