Join the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity
By: Dr. Ann Johnson, Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement, Professor of Psychology
I am excited to announce that St. Thomas has established an institutional membership with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD), as part of our strategic initiatives related to diversity. That means we can provide you with a free membership and access to a variety of its benefits.
What is the NCFDD and what does it offer for faculty? The NCFDD provides intensive and structured support to enhance your scholarly productivity and promote your success as a university professor. You will be able to interact with external mentors and collaborators as you learn about and adopt proven strategies for managing your time effectively and increasing your scholarly output. The NCFDD is for all faculty but includes a specific focus on supporting faculty of color in predominantly white institutions by providing strategies for success and linking you to broader faculty communities.
Our membership gives you access to (among other things) guest expert webinars, writing challenges, and a weekly productivity email. The NCFDD allows you to become part of a growing national community of scholars who provide support and feedback. All UST faculty, full time and adjuncts, and UST graduate students have access to this membership.
Several St. Thomas faculty members have tried out the workshops and services of the NCFDD and describe their experiences as "awesome" and "life-changing." You will learn skills for using time more effectively - creating balance in your life and work. It is free to you and I urge you to take advantage of it.
Please visit the NCFDD website to learn more, and then follow the easy steps below to activate your membership. I encourage you to explore this remarkable opportunity and sign up right away!
