Award-winning author of the young adult novels Split (Random House/Knopf, 2010) and Chasing Shadows (Random House/Knopf, 2013), Swati Avasthi will talk about her books and the craft of writing in general. 

Split is the winner of a Cyblis Young Adult Fiction Award, a Parents' Choice 2010 Silver Award, a New Voices 2010 pick by the Association of Booksellers for Children, and an ALA Best Fiction for Young Adults pick.

Swati's second novel, Chasing Shadows (Random House/Knopf, 2013) was a finalist for the Minnesota Book Awards and received three starred reviews from Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, and School Library Journal.

Her 2009 short story, "Swallow," was published in Water-Stone Review and subsequently received a Pushcart Prize nomination and was included in the 2009 Best American New Voices collection.
