Career Highlights:

As Vice President and Chief Legal counsel for the Coronary and Structural Heart and Aortic Peripheral Venous divisions of Medtronic, Liz leads a team responsible for the legal support for all of the functions within those divisions (including Quality and Regulatory). She is also responsible for leading the Cardiac and Vascular Group’s Valued Based Healthcare Council.  Previously, Liz was responsible for the legal support of multiple businesses and functions within Cardiac Rhythm Division including the Sales, Quality, Regulatory, Operations and R & D. She has been in-house developing strategic contractual initiatives and providing legal counsel to Medtronic since 2006. Liz has spent the last 20 years focusing her energies on streamlining tools for her clients and delivering timely, efficient, and proactive counsel. She is the recipient of two Medtronic Corporate Star of Excellence Awards, along with the CRDM Sourcing Leadership Team and Quality at the Roots team and an individual Star of Excellence Award for her Value Based Healthcare role.

Prior to Medtronic, Liz served as an Associate General Counsel at United Healthcare Inc. and as Senior Counsel to the Color Technologies division of Imation. In addition, she litigated products liability and contractual cases for several years with the law firm of Foley & Lardner in Milwaukee, WI. Representative clients included Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Ford Motor Company, Coors Brewing Company and the Milwaukee Brewers. Liz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and History with a Minor in Economics from the College of St. Thomas magna cum laude and a Law Degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. She has held numerous local and national leadership positions with the American, Milwaukee and Hennepin County Bar Associations and received the Service Award in Milwaukee. She currently serves on the Board for Minnesota Children’s Museum.
