Meal Plans

Dining Services has flexible dining options for students, facility, and staff members of the university. Use the following information to help determine the meal plan that will suit your needs and any questions you may have.

Who needs a meal plan?

All resident students (except students living in Morrison, Flynn, CDC, Transfer Houses, or Grand apartments) are required to purchase a meal plan. If no meal plan is selected, the student is automatically placed on the Block 150 plan. Any meal plan is available to non-resident (off-campus) students but is not required.

What if I want to change my meal plan?

Meal Plan participants may decrease their meal plan up until the 2nd Friday of the semester.

If you are an on-campus student please change your meal plan on Murphy Online.

If you are an off-campus student visit the Card Office to fill out a Meal Plan Change Form.

What if my schedule conflicts with dining location hours?

If you have class, lab, practice, or a work conflict, you need not miss a meal.

T's offers a bag lunch option Monday - Thursday from 7 am - 6 pm and Friday from 7 am - 2 pm. Students who have a schedule conflict should visit the Dining Services office (ASC 351), to fill out an application for a sack lunch. Please bring supporting documentation such as a copy of class, work, or practice schedule. A sack lunch will include any item from the deli or grill, a yogurt or fruit, and a fountain beverage or bottled milk.

The only class schedules accepted will be ones printed out of Murphy Online. If you have questions on how to do this contact the Registrar’s office.

After one business day you will receive an email indicating whether your application was approved or denied.

Where can I use my meal plan in Minneapolis?

Meal Plan participant purchases (up to $7.00) can be exchanged for one meal from your plan at Food For Thought on the Minneapolis campus. No prepackaged items qualify for the exchange but can be purchased with Flex, eXpress, debit, credit or cash at the time of purchase.

What if I want to bring a guest?

If you wish to bring a guest to eat in The View or the BINZ, you may use your guest meals attached to your meal plan. Not all meal plans have guest meals, see your individual plan for details. You can also use your flex dollars, pay cash, or your eXpress account.

What happens to unused meals and flex dollars at the end of the semester?

Unused meal plans and flex dollars do not carry over to the next semester. eXpress dollars do carry over from semester to semester. For more information on eXpress dollars please click here.

Where can I check my meal plan balance?

Students wishing to check their meal plan balance may do so at any register on campus. Ask the cashier for the balance on the card after any transaction. Students may direct any questions regarding card balance to the Card Office at 651-962-6069. To check your eXpress card balance click here.
