St. Thomas has a variety of meal plan options to fit all student dining needs. Browse the options below to choose the plan that fits you best.

2020-21 Board Rates for Fall and Spring Semesters

Meal plans are available for all students. Commuter/off-campus student may purchsase any meal plan.

Meal plan service begins with dinner on the Friday of Move-In Weekend.

*Early move in meal plan is active beginning Monday, August 19; meals expire at the start of fall semester. 

**Students who run out of meals may purchase an add-on block of 20 meals at any point during the semester. The Add on 20 is not available as a stand-alone plan. To purchase the Add-on Block 20, please visit the Card Office in MHC 101. This plan is not available to buy online.

January term meal plan options are separate from the fall and spring semester meal plans. 

January term meal plan options are separate from the fall and spring semester meal plans, and are not required. Students may choose any plan that fits their needs for J-Term.

These plans are available to all resident and commuter students.

Guest meals are not available with J-Term meal plans, but guests may pay with dining dollars, eXpress, cash, debit, or credit.

During J-term, meal plan participant purchases up to $7.50 (maximum 2 meals per visit) can be exchanged for one meal from your plan at T’s for breakfasts and on Saturday and Sunday. Prepackaged items do not qualify for the exchange but can be purchased with dining dollars, eXpress, debit, credit or cash at the time of purchase.

All resident students (except students living in Morrison, Flynn, CDC, Transfer Houses, or Grand apartments) are required to purchase a meal plan.

  • First-year resident students are required to be on the Unlimited meal plan.
  • Sophomore residents in all halls except Morrison, Flynn, CDC Student Residence, 2085 Grand, or 2151 Grand are required to have a meal plan and may choose the Block 135, Block 150, or Unlimited plan.
  • Junior and senior residents of Brady, Cretin, Dowling, Grace, Ireland and Murray Halls are required to have a meal plan and may choose any student meal plan.
  • Sophomore, Junior, and Senior residents of Flynn, Morrison, CDC/SR, 2085 Grand, 2151 Grand Avenue and the Transfer Houses are not required to have a meal plan, but may choose any student meal plan.

If a resident student is a sophomore, junior or senior living in a residence hall that requires a meal plan but none is selected, the student is automatically placed on the Block 150 plan. First-year resident students are automatically placed on the Unlimited meal plan.

Any meal plan is available to non-resident (off-campus, commuter) students, but is not required.

Resident students will choose a meal plan along with their housing selection through Residence Life.

Off-campus/Commuter students may purchase meal plans online through the University's TouchNet application. J-term meal plans are also available through TouchNet.

 

  • Meals are for use by the meal plan holder only. Guest Meals can be shared.
  • First-year residents are required to have the Unlimited meal plan.
  • Sophomore residents in all halls except Morrison, Flynn, CDC Student Residence, 2085 Grand, or 2151 Grand are required to have a meal plan and may choose the Block 135, Block 150, or Unlimited plan.
  • Junior and senior residents of Brady, Cretin, Dowling, Grace, Ireland and Murray Halls are required to have a meal plan and may choose any student meal plan.

  • Meal plan availability may be adjusted based on medical documentation through an approval process with Dining Services. Learn more »
  • Any meals or dining dollars not used by the final day of each semester are lost; there are no refunds or rollovers to the next semester.
  • Meal Plan participants may increase or decrease their meal plan — within the options available to them based on class year and housing choice — through the second Friday of the semester.
  • Resident students may change or cancel meal plans using Murphy Online.
  • Off-campus/commuter students may change a meal plan by ordering another meal plan the same way they ordered the first. The last received meal plan order will be the plan on record that the student will be billed for. To cancel a meal plan, an off-campus/commuter student must send an email to cardoffice@stthomas.edu by 4:30 p.m. on the second Friday of the semester. 

Dining Services offers a meal plan designed specifically for our Faculty and Staff. This provides an economical way to dine in our all-you-care-to-eat environment, as well as an opportunity to engage with our students, fellow faculty and staff, strengthening the University community. Guests are welcome to dine with you using your faculty/staff meal plan.

The faculty/staff meal plan is available in blocks of 10 meals for $90. To purchase a meal plan, log onto Murphy online where you will be able to purchase your blocks of meals. Look in the employee services section.
