The Diversity Activities Board grants funding toward proposed porgrams that are effective in enhancing education, enrichment, and engagement on social justice and inclusion at the University of St. Thomas. This ties in our strategic priorities with Global Connections, Embracing our Differences as on Human Family and Catholic Inspired Community Engagement. DAB awards funds focused on three main areas:
Cultural education programs allow students to acquire and experience critical knowledge needed to fully understand and focus on the history, practices and infrastructure of various cultures.
CULTURAL ENRICHMENT AND ENGAGEMENT
These social programs often will include performances, entertainment and social gatherings. Festivals, multi-ethnic luncheons and performance troupes are examples of some cultural engagement programs that will take place
SOCIAL JUSTICE AND INCLUSION
These progams create co-curricular educational opportunities in partnership with our student community that foster self-exploration, facilitate conversations across difference and support actions that create social change on campus.
To be considered for funding, a proposal must seek to directly improve diversity and inclusion at the University of St. Thomas. Applicants must be current students, staff or faculty members at the University of St. Thomas.
If you have questions please contact one of the DAB Advisors, Dia Yang or Erin Whipkey. We look forward to working with you.
