All quarterly account statements that are returned as ”Not Deliverable, Unable to Forward” by the US Post Office will be researched and if a forwarding address cannot be found, a $3.00 per quarter fee will be charged to the member's account starting October 1, 2015. If and when the balance of zero is reached, the account will be deemed dormant and will be closed. After a period of 3 years, any accounts that have an existing balance will be turned over to the State of Minnesota, Unclaimed Property Division, according to Minnesota Statues.
Starting October 1st, 2019, all dormant accounts of 3,000 days or older will be subject to a $10.00 per quarter dormancy fee. This fee will be assessed up to 4 quarters which at that time the remaining balance will be turned over to the State of Minnesota Unclaimed Property Division and the account closed. If you wish to keep your dormant account open for future transactions, please mail to the STEFCU a $10.00 deposit to be deposited into your Share 1 account.
