Dr. Lockwood and CISC Student Attend MinneWIC Conference

March 11, 2015 / By: UST CISC Department

February 20-21, the 3rd Regional Celebration of Women in Computing in the Upper MidWest (MinneWIC) was held at the University of Minnesota campus. St. Thomas was represented by Professor Kate Lockwood, who volunteered with the conference organizing committee, and CISC undergraduate Sheila Niaz. Students, faculty and technology leaders from across the upper Midwest participated in research poster sessions, panels about graduate school and career options, and heard inspiring talks about different areas of computer science. St. Thomas is excited to support MinneWIC attendance for our students and to encourage efforts to increase the number of women in computing.
