CISC Faculty and Students Lead Activities for CS Education Week

January 12, 2015 / By: UST CISC Department

December 8-14 was Computer Science Education week, and CISC professor Kate Lockwood and members of the Computer Science Club were busy getting others excited about computer science.  Dr. Lockwood kicked off the week by helping a Brownie Troop at Nokomis South School work on their computer expert badge by writing programs using characters from the movie Frozen.  The next day, Dr. Lockwood and CISC students held workshops for UST students to learn about coding through fun activities like controlling the lights on a White House Christmas tree.  Finally, on Friday of that week, Dr. Lockwood and three CISC students helped third graders at Falcon Heights Elementary School create their own Flappy Bird computer games.
