Attracting and retaining key non-family employees

Family Business Breakfast Series

Friday, December 8

When your business is looking to fill key roles, how do you find the best fit? Often times our family members don’t have a specific skill set that’s needed, or may not be ready for a certain role, and we have to look outside to find employees we can build the business with. But, how do you find someone who matches your values? And how do you entice that person that your family and business is the right fit for him/her?

In this breakfast series event, we’ll learn from a panel that includes a local search expert, family business HR director and a non-family employee, about what families should consider when looking beyond their last name to make the important hires.

  • David Magy, principal at Abeln, Magy, Underberg & Associates, a retained search firm
  • Desiree Church, non-family vice president in HR at Meritex Enterprises, a family business
  • Tom Whelan, non-family president at Nemer Fieger, a family business

First-time attendees are invited to join us for breakfast as our guest to see if it meets the needs of your family. Regular registration for one breakfast is $200 per family or sign on for the whole season (seven breakfasts) for $1,000.
