For over 20 years, the University of St. Thomas has provided tutors and mentors for local schools.

We’re passionate about ensuring access to quality education for all. The opportunity gap is a pressing challenge we’re working actively to address in our local communities. By partnering with teachers and their students, University of St. Thomas students provide much-needed mentoring and tutoring support to move the needle on this social issue.

Tutoring and Mentoring

For over 20 years, the University of St. Thomas has provided tutors and mentors for local schools. The goal is to great a mutually-beneficial, long-term experience where both the college students and young students can learn and grow their skills.

When: Ongoing dates and times set by your school

Where: Onsite at your school or community organization

We currently send students to 12 sites each semester. We look at a number of factors when selecting our Tutor-Mentor partner sites. If you are interested in becoming a tutor or mentor please apply below.

Early College Awareness

Early exposure to post-secondary opportunities is a strong indicator for student success. Our Early College Awareness program welcomes middle-school students on campus for a student-led tour and info session to explore possibilities beyond high school.

Where: University of St. Thomas St. Paul Campus

When: Mondays and Wednesdays between from 1:30-3 p.m. (we can start later or end earlier)

Restriction: 50 students max and 1 chaperone for every 10 students.
