Dr. Theresa Ricke-Kiely is the executive director for the Center for the Common Good at the University of St Thomas. Across the university, she leads the initiatives for community engagement serving students, staff, and faculty in Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and the Office for Mission.

Prior to joining the University of St Thomas, she was the executive director of the Kroc Institute of International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame and associate clinical professor teaching nonprofit and NGO leadership for the Keough School of Global Affairs and the Mendoza College of Business. She continues to teach transformational and nonprofit leadership in the Nonprofit Executive Education programs at Notre Dame. She also served on the faculty at the University of South Carolina (Spartanburg) where she was the inaugural director of the Center for Nonprofit Leadership and directed the nonprofit major and minor. Before her academic career, she served large nonprofit organizations, advocating and working on civil rights issues for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a director, she oversaw 250 staff and managed a budget of over $13 million. She is a lifelong advocate for equity with all populations. As managing partner of Silver Fox Advising, a consulting practice that served national and regional nonprofits, she enjoyed working with various leaders on strategic planning and the management of 501©3 organizations.

She is currently the inaugural book review editor of the Journal of Nonprofit Education and Leadership. As a practitioner and academic, Ricke-Kiely has served in nonprofit organizations throughout her entire career.  She has also served on national and regional boards and continues to volunteer in the third sector. She has been a longtime member of various professional communities including ARNOVA, ISTR, and ILA and has published on nonprofit leadership in various national and international journals. She earned an BA from SUNY New Paltz, an MPA from Marist College and an Ed.D. in organizational leadership from the University of Sarasota.
