Contact methods and participation rates
We begin contacting graduates in November using a variety of methods. During the execution of each contact method we exclude those we already heard from during a previous method. We begin with emails to UST accounts as well as other email addreses on file. We then send out a post card to the last known mailing address. The post card contains a link to the online survey and a requst from the postal service to provide any change or forwarding address. Finally we mail a paper survey to any last known or corrected address. Email reminders are sent up to 4 times during this process.
The chart below shows the various methods, when they were executed, how many graduates received contact, and the response rate of each method. The right-most column gives the percentage by which a particular method contributed to the total response rate. For example, responses from email contributed to 72.11 percent of the overall responses.
