Faculty Liaison Model

The faculty liaison model is a strategic partnership between Academic Affairs and the Career Development Center. Each academic department has been assigned a career development staff member who will work with faculty on how to best serve the students from a career management perspective. Career staff will meet with their faculty partner on a regular basis to strategize, discuss student needs and develop programming.

  • Inform faculty of any new relevant career development center programs
  • Partner with faculty to create and drive new initiatives as needed
  • Stay current on any new industry career trends
  • Collaborate with the Career Development Center employer relations associate director to develop employer relationships in targeted fields
  • Partner with their liaison on any career related activities (i.e. career fairs, employer information sessions, alumni panels, related club events …)
  • Report any internship/job placement outcomes to their liaison for data collection purposes
  • Connect liaison/employer relations associate director to employer and alumni professional contacts for future relationship development
