How long have you been at St. Thomas? :

I  have been at the Career Development Center since October 2013. I found my current position (and most of my other jobs) through a personal connection!

Favorite part of your job :

Aside from hearing students’ histories and hopes, I enjoy talking with students about how to use social media in a job search and on interviewing – a skill that can be learned and improved upon with practice.

Advice for students :

First piece of advice: Don’t think you need to have the rest of your life figured out by the time you graduate. Your first professional job might be all you had ever dreamed, but for many it’s the first in a series of opportunities to learn more about oneself and others, develop new skills, and explore new interests!

Second piece of advice: Talk with people. Whether it’s an informational interview with someone in a career you are curious about, family, friends, or a career counselor. Let people know what you are thinking and experiencing – they may have valuable advice or ideas you haven’t considered.

Favorite place on campus :
South campus – for the variety of architecture and the outdoor sculptures.

A hobby or something fun about yourself :

Went skydiving over the Caribbean Sea!
