Muslim Retreat Follow-Up

The Office for Spirituality co-hosted our first Muslim Student Retreat, Celebrating Faith: Unity in the Ummah, last weekend.  Muslim students from St Thomas and St Catherine University gathered for a day built on the theme of Unity.  Students reflected in the role of their faith as promoters of unity in the world that surrounds them.  It was a beautiful day of presentations, discussions and prayer.

Meet Your Peer Ministers

Over the next few weeks, we will introduce you to our Peer Ministers for this year.

Emily Dalsky

Hello! My name is Emily Dalksy, and I hail from the lush countryside of Wisconsin. I find great joy in mountains, kombucha, spiritual theology, and the ukulele. You can find me here at our beloved St Thomas pursuing a double major in Catholic Studies and Communications while minoring in Philosophy. I love life and desire to adventure with you in what it means to be a human fully alive!

Liam Skulley

Welcome! My name is Liam Skulley and I hope to see you on campus this year! I am currently a sophomore majoring in Secondary Education and Math. I grew up in St. Paul and am blessed to call St. Thomas my home this year. As a Peer Minister, I hope to reach out to as many fellow students as possible and create strong relationships with all of you. My mission is to bring many new faces into the faith community and support my peers. If you see me on campus feel free to say hi and good luck this academic year. Go Tommies and God Bless!

Centennial Celebration of Our Lady of Fatima: Archdiocesan Candlelight Rosary Procession

Join the Peer Ministers for the Centennial Celebration of Our Lady of Fatima: Archdiocesan Candlelight Rosary Procession

Friday October 13
Meet:  4pm
Mass:  5:15pm
Procession:  7:00pm

This Friday, October 13th the St. Thomas Peer Ministers invite you to come along with them to a once in a lifetime celebration put on by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis: the 100th anniversary celebration of the miraculous appearance of the Virgin Mary to three Portuguese children. Since this appearance, the vision has been scrutinized by many but ultimately found to be a legitimate apparition of the Mother of God. Come along to learn more about the event itself, grow in faith, attend Mass and go on a rosary procession starting from the Cathedral of St. Paul to the Capitol. This is a great way to be involved with your regional community of faith, and is surely to be an experience that will not easily be forgotten!

Peer Ministers will meet students at 4:00 pm on Friday, October 13th at the Grand and Finn bus station. From there, we will take the bus to the Cathedral, stay for Mass, and then start on the procession. It is estimated that the procession will not extend past 9:00, but there is no definite end to the procession. Bring $5 cash for bus fare.

Questions?  Contact Sam Shay at shay3672@stthomas.edu.

Tommie Catholic: Dressed to Profess

This week's Tommie Catholic is entitled "Dress to Profess" where we will be asking the question, why do you dress the way that you dress. In this we will be asking, do you find your identity through clothes, and how do you percieve others based on their dress.

Hospitality Volunteer Opportunites Available

We are still in need of volunteers to join our team of Hospitality Ministers for weekend Masses. If you're friendly and love helping people, this is the job for you! Please fill out a ministry volunteer form (found at the back of the chapel) or talk to Fr. James-Peter Trares if you are willing to serve.
