Course Formats and Schedules
In the MS in Health Care Communication program, you will find that extensive discussion and collaboration are major parts of the classroom and online experience. This environment exemplifies the student-focused approach of St. Thomas.
Blended and Online Learning
Designed to provide you with greater flexibility in balancing your education with personal and professional demands, blended courses feature the latest online instructional technologies to complement less frequent classroom sessions on campus.
For the seven blended format courses in the degree, you will:
- Attend class on campus no more than one Saturday a month
- Meet all day for these on-campus Saturday classes
- Stay engaged during the weeks between on-campus meetings with web-based presentations and interactions with peers and faculty
- Upload required coursework
To be successful in blended courses, you should be comfortable with remote collaboration tools and able to self-direct portions of your learning experience. You should enjoy connecting in person with classmates, but also value the ability to learn and study independently on your own schedule.
Two of your courses in the program are fully online, providing you with maximum flexibility in completing coursework.
