International Conditional Admission Program

The International Conditional Admission Program provides international students with a conditional acceptance letter enabling them to come to the U.S. and improve their English proficiency before full admission and enrollment into the Full-time UST MBA program.

Acceptance into ICAP does not guarantee full admission into the program.

Conditional admission is available to international students who have sufficient work experience, academic background, and intellectual aptitude for the rigorous Full-time UST MBA program. To be fully admitted into the program, the international candidate must fulfill all required conditions.

Why apply for ICAP instead of full admission to the Full-time UST MBA Program?

The Full-time UST MBA program is an English-intensive program with numerous presentations, written reports, readings averaging 200 pages a week and assignments that require you to be able to work within a team. ICAP provides you with sufficient time to enhance your English skills in the U.S. in an immersive setting so that you are more prepared for the demands of the Full-time UST MBA Program.

By completing the master’s level of the ELS program, you will be equipped with sufficient knowledge of the English language as well as presentation, writing, and reading skills necessary to be successful within the program.

Who is qualified for ICAP?

You must be an international student with:

  • A minimum of two years of professional work experience
  • TOEFL iBT or IELTS score within these ranges:

70 - 80

5.5 -6.0

Candidates with a TOEFL iBT score of 90 or higher or an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher are encouraged to apply for full admission into the Full-time UST MBA program.

What happens after I complete the Conditional Acceptance Program?

Once accepted into ICAP, you must meet the following conditions by the stated date in your conditional acceptance letter for full admission into the Full-time UST MBA program:

  • TOEFL minimum score of 90 or IELTS overall band score of 7
  • GMAT minimum score of 600

If one or more of these conditions are not met within the given time-frame, the conditional admission will be revoked and you will not be accepted into the Full-time UST MBA Program.

International Transcript Evaluations

Academic credentials: Transcript, diploma, English translation

We require applicants’ credentials to be at least the equivalent to a four-year bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. institution. If you completed your undergraduate or graduate work at a college or university outside of the United States, you must complete a transcript evaluation. There are three options available to applicants in need of a transcript evaluation.

  • Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES) are independent transcript evaluation services that the Opus College of Business accepts for international transcript evaluation. If you choose to have ECE or WES do your evaluation, you will receive a copy of the evaluation. To use ECE or WES, visit their website and choose the “Start Your Evaluation” option.

If you already have a transcript evaluation, or would prefer to have it completed on your own, please contact the admissions office at or (651) 962-8800 to ensure that the evaluation service you use is accepted by our university.

All application materials can be submitted via email to or sent by U.S. mail.
