Mark Stotts received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas. In addition, he is a licensed CPA in the state of Minnesota (inactive) and a member of the Minnesota Society of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs. His professional work experience includes positions in public accounting and controller of the largest division of Seaboard Corporation. He is currently the director of finance and operations for the Austin Public Schools.

He was a founding member and served as chairman of the board of MN Trust, a comprehensive investment and cash management program for Minnesota school districts.

Financial accounting is an integral part of the planning, reporting and control functions of every business. It is a means to achieving insights about the firm's financial condition, operating results, cash flows and ownership and capital structure. This course covers the fundamental terminology and calculations of financial accounting and reporting, as well as the comprehension and interpretation of financial statements. Ethical aspects of accounting are included. Prerequisite: None
