Museums, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions all need funding to operate, and the role of the development officer is to secure financial support in order to help an institution fulfill its mission. This session provides insights into the process, the challenges, and the ethics of raising money for the arts and humanities from three different vantage points. It will consider the development officer’s role of raising funds within an institutional structure and mission, and offer tips on success in doing so.
