Countdown to College for Spring Transfer Students

September Family Weekend is late-September.
October Homecoming Weekend is early October.
October Visit St. Thomas if you haven’t already. Schedule a meeting with a transfer admissions counselor, sit in on a class or meet with a faculty member or coach at the admissions visit page. You can also contact us at (651) 962-6154 or (800) 328-6819, Ext. 2-6154.
November Keep in contact with your transfer admissions counselor. This person is available to help you through the college admission process and knows about all the deadlines, forms and important events.
November Research scholarships. Utilize the resources available from your local library, websites, parents' work, your employer and church.
November Get some great scholarship information from our Financial Aid website.
November Send in your confirming and housing deposits and paperwork. St. Thomas requires a $200 deposit to reserve a space in the class and a $200 deposit to reserve a space in a residence hall. Housing availability is not guaranteed and is based on the date we receive your housing deposit. These deposits are refundable if requested in writing by February 1.
December Apply for outside funding or scholarships. (You'll be busy writing essays!)
December Don't have a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)? Then obtain one at the U.S. Department of Education PIN web site.
December Collect family tax information and file your taxes as soon as possible. UST's priority deadline for financial aid is April 1. Be sure to file your FAFSA by this date.

December Contact your current college or university's registrar's office to have your official final transcript sent to UST.

After January 1, or as soon as you file your Federal Taxes, you should file your FAFSA electronically. The FAFSA school code for St. Thomas is 002345.

Be wary of websites or services that charge a fee for financial aid. Filing the FAFSA is free.
