The O'Shaughnessy, St. Catherine University (St. Paul)

Two world premiere works are featured on this very special program: New York choreographer Francesca Harper’s In Witnessing, commissioned by The O’Shaughnessy, examines how the human body responds to injustice and violence in a full-company work with a guest appearance by Artistic Director Toni Pierce-Sands; Choreographer Uri Sands premieres Matter, a work created in collaboration with TU Dance company members to address recent local and national tragedies involving racial bias and profiling. The evening also features a reprise of Sands’ Tearing (2005), originally commissioned through the Princess Grace Fellowship and inspired by the emergence of ribbon campaigns. Tearing uncovers how communities come together in expressions of grief and celebration.

All programs offered by the University of St. Thomas shall be readily accessible to individuals with disabilities. For details, call (651) 962-6315.
