Join us for this ongoing American Culture and Difference program series of interdisciplinary discussions on representations of power, race, gender, and class in American popular culture.
Date & Time:
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
We live in a world saturated by images that come to us through films, commercials, paintings, graffiti, comics, and television shows. More recently, social media sites, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr have added to the variety of these ever present images. Troubling Waters is an event where faculty and students in the American Culture and Difference program unpack some of these images, examining the ways in which power, ideology, and questions of race, class, gender, nation, and sexuality intersect in dynamic and often contradictory ways.
Featured speakers and topics will be released in mid-October.
