Delta Epsilon Sigma offers national scholarship and fellowship opportunities to DES members each year. Scholarship or Fellowship applications must be submitted to Dr. White's assistant, Erica Berglund, through email (berg7582@stthomas.edu) by Friday, February 28, 2020.

The required letters of recommendation can be submitted to Ms. Berglund through email, via campus mail (AQU 110), or to:

          Dr. Sheneeta W. White
Associate Vice Provost for Student Achievement
          University of St. Thomas
2115 Summit Ave, Mail AQU 110
          Saint Paul, MN 55105

Dr. White will write the third letter of recommendation for the candidate chosen by St. Thomas to be submitted for the national competition for the scholarship and fellowship competitions.

Please note that for Fellowship applications you need to have official copies of test scores such as the GRE sent to Dr. White as part of the application. Dr. White needs to receive all letters of recommendation, test scores, and transcripts by the February 28 deadline.

         1. Scholarships.  Scholarships are awarded for full-time undergraduate study in the senior year. St. Thomas will select one applicant for the national competition. Ten scholarships of $1,200 each will be awarded at the national level.

The application must be accompanied by two letters of recommendation which address the academic, service, and character traits of the candidate. Dr. White will provide a third letter of recommendation for the St. Thomas student whose application is selected to be entered into the national competition. You must submit official transcripts of all college work (including transfer credits) through the current fall semester with your application. (In other words, you must submit an official UST transcript that you obtain from the Registrar’s office and an official transcript from any schools or colleges from which transfer credit appears on your UST record.)

The National Officers of Delta Epsilon Sigma serving as a Scholarship Committee shall award the scholarships to the applicants judged to be most worthy. In addition to scholastic achievement, consideration is given to leadership and service activities.

        2. Fellowships. Fellowships are awarded for full-time study in graduate or professional school. Applicants must be senior members of Delta Epsilon Sigma.
