Frequently Asked QuestionsWhere can I find information on citing sources using MLA, APA, or the Chicago Manual of Style? Click on Documentation Quick Links! What should I bring? How can I prepare? Bring your assignment and any readings that are related to it. Bring any notes you've made from class or on your own. And of course bring a draft and outlines if you're that far along your process. Will you proofread my paper? Can I drop it off? No. We can work with you on developing strategies for looking closely at your own writing at the editing phase. Our aim is to help you learn ways to work on your writing yourself. Do I need an appointment? We recommend it, but it's not required. With an appointment you're guaranteed one uninterrupted hour with a consultant. Even during busy times of the semester you can usually get an appointment for the next day. But if you want a full hour of a consultant's attention, you should make an appointment. Where are you located? For a map to find us, click here: Hours & Directions. Can you answer a quick question about writing? Yes! Call us or email us at Ask a consultant. If we're closed or you don't have the time, check our our Quick Links! And many times a quick question actually leads to other issues so make an appointment to see us! We welcome both short and long conferences. How can I become a peer writing consultant? If you'd like to work for us, click Become a Peer Consultant. The Center
