Writing to Learn Criteria

Writing to Learn Criteria:

  • Focus is on writing as a process for critical thinking and discovery.
  • While the writing process is not explicitly taught (as in a WI or WID course), the course is infused with writing to learn practices and pedagogies.
  • Frequent, rather than formal, opportunities for students to engage in writing as a process of learning: journaling, micro-themes, exploratory exercises, etc.
