Minority Students in Science Club
The Minority Students in Science Club will strive to be a resource for students of color who plan to pursue scientific and medical careers and/or interested in learning about the different fields of science. Our hopes are to empower more minority students at UST to achieve their full potential in science; however this club is open to everyone Through a strong support network this club will bring together various cultures to promote a more diverse science community at UST. Our goal is to create an environment where students can interact with faculty, learn about opportunities offered to minorities, and build relationships with other minority students who share in their scientific interests. A mentor network will be provided for freshmen and sophomores to encourage retention and peer association. Information about post-graduate options, research, and internships will also be provided. This club will serve as an open window for minority students to discover the world of science through speakers, presentations, field trips, activities, and faculty.
