Style Guide

Since each St. Thomas publication represents the university, a consistent style must be maintained for them all.

As approved by the office of the president, the Associated Press Stylebook and Libel Manual will be used to edit all publications produced through UR. If your discipline adheres to a separate style guide, please contact Doug Hennes, dehennes@stthomas.edu.

Members of the university community also are encourage to use the St. Thomas graphic identity with tagline on all publications. You can find more information on the graphic identity with tagline here.

Additional Style Guidelines
When a question arises that cannot be answered using AP stylebook, refer to the Little, Brown Handbook.

For spelling, use Webster’s New World College Dictionary, Third Edition, published by Macmillan, a division of Simon & Schuster, New York.
