Men's
Track second of five at UW-Stout
The
St. Thomas men's indoor track and field team got
victories from Joe Thomas in the triple jump, Carson
Glad in the 400 and the 4x200 relay team en route to
a second-place team finish at Saturday's UW-Stout
Bowlus Invite.
UW-Stevens Point (189), St. Thomas (144),
Minnesota-Duluth (113), UW-Eau Claire (76) and
UW-Stout (52) led the team scorers.
Thomas jumped 45-1 in the triple and was second in
the high jump (6-5 1-2). Glad ran 49.92 in the 400.
The 4x200 clocked 1:31.02.
UST had three other runners-up -- the 4x400 relay
(3:22.49); Robert Ware in the 200 (22.99); Brian
Preus in the 3,000 (8:34.81).
Other top-six finishers were Ware, third in the 400
(50.33); Roman Cress, third in 55 (6.55) and fourth
in the long jump (21-2); Andrew Hilliard, third in
200 (23.21) and sixth in the 55 (6.74); Levi
Severson, third in the 3,000 (8:36.16); Shaun
Sharpe, fourth in the 400 (51.11); Matt McLaughlin,
fourth in the weight throw (52-1 1-4) and fifth in
the shot put (47-1 1-2); Andrew Kisilius, fifth in
the long jump (20-9 3-4); Nate Coleman, fifth in the
3,000 (8:37.78); Bryce Beckman, fifth in the 400
(51.20); Tom Hart, fifth in the 55 (6.73); Jason
Simmons, fifth in the 55 hurdles (8.27); Brock
Stepan, sixth in the 3,000 (8:39.27); and Jarod
Gray, sixth in the 200 (23.51).
