Cory
Fusco hits provosional time in 800 in Men's Track
Senior
Cory Fusco ran 1:54.06 for third out of 34 entries
at Friday's non-team scored Snowshoe Open at the
University of Minnesota. Fusco's time eclipsed the
NCAA provisional qualifying standard of 1:55.00.
Teammate Bryce Beckman was fifth in 1:55.90.
Joe Thomas took sixth in the high jump in 6-6 3-4.
Jarrod Gray and Mike Draxton were 12th and 14th at
6-0 3-4, and J.J. Kirby was 17th in 5-10 3/4. Will
Hawthorne was 16th in the mile in 4:24.16.
Most of the Tommie squad competed in Saturday's
Tostrud Classic at St. Olaf. Complete

Glad sets Men's Track school record in 200
Senior All-American Carson Glad broke the Tommie
school indoor 200-meter dash record as he won
Saturday's event at the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic
men's indoor track and field meet. Glad clocked
21.98 to break the old mark of 22.00 set by Roman
Cress.
The Tommies had a partial squad entered and took
third out of six teams. Senior All-American Joe
Thomas won the triple jump in 44-6 3/4 for the other
Tommie victory.
UST got seconds from Joe Hoovestol in the 1,000
(2:33.96); Travis Birklid in the 55 hurdles (8.25);
and Peter Rosholt in the weight throw (51-10 1/2).
Thirds were scored by Chris Mattke in the 55 hurdles
(8.33) and Jarrod Gray in the high jump (6-3 1/2).
Fourths were scored by Dan Everson in the 55 dash
(6.78), Jason Schwietz in the 400 (50.38), Tim
Barnaby in the 1,000 (2:42.92); and Alex Kim in the
long jump (20-3 3/4). Fifths were scored by Eric
Baumgartner in the 1,000 (2:45.46) and Nate Wagner
in the triple jump (37-4 1/2). Sixths were scored by
Brian Welle in the 55 hurdles (8.73) and Schwietz in
the 200 (23.29); A.C. Udeaja in the long jump (19-8
3/4). Sevenths were scored by Will Hawthorne in the
3,000 (8:48.40) and Mark O'Connell (43-0 1/2).
Eighths were scored by Mattke in the 200 (23.39);
Nate Page in the pole vault (13-9 3/4) and Mike
Draxton in the long jump (19-3 1/4). Ninths were
scored by P.J. Theisen in the 400 (50.73); Gray in
the 200 (23.56); Colin Sullivan in the 3,000
(9:09.22); and Brad Hansen in the pole vault (13-3
3/4). Tenths were scored by Kaleb Stromberg in the
mile (4:34.08); and Kim in the pole vault (12-0).
Also in the 400, J.J. Kirby took 11th (50.97) and
Mattke placed 13th (51.44).
