Schwietz leads
Men's Track in Northfield meet

Schwietz clocked an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 48.51 to
win the 400 meters and lead the Tommies in Saturday's triangular
meet at St. Olaf with Carleton, the Oles and Tommies.
St. Thomas withheld several of its key athletes and placed second
with 123 points. St. Olaf scored 129 for first place, and Carleton
had 79.
Other winners for UST were Tom Hart in the 100 meters (11.23); Ben
Garbe in the triple jump (43-3); Craig Benson in the 110 hurdles
(15.01); Jason Overson in the 800 (1:55.32); Andrew Hilliard in
the 400 hurdles (54.91); and Aaron Johnson in the hammer (158-7).
Tommie runners-up were Johnson in the shot put (44-7 1-2) and
discus (138-4); Andrew Kisielius in the long jump (21-9.5); Joe
McCarney in the 110 hurdles (15.99) and the high jump (6-1 1-4);
Brock Stepan in the 1,500 (4:04.71); Corey Fusco in the 800
(1:56.19); Nick Schleder in the 400 hurdles (57.75); Justin Hall
in the 200 (22.47); and the 4x100 (43.66) and 4x400 (3:20.34)
relays.
Next weekend, the Tommies will take some athletes to the Kansas
Relays and others to the Carleton Relays.
