Justin Hall earns All-American status in 400m
Jeremy Heckman sets school record in 400m

St. Thomas' Justin Hall (SO-Oakdale/Tartan) placed sixth in the 400 meters to earn All-America honors Saturday at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Hall clocked 49.30 and earned the lone team point of the meet for the Tommie men. Teammate Jeremy Heckman (SR-Lino Lakes/Centennial), who ran 48.83 in the prelims, was seventh in 49.39.

On the women's side, Tommie Kara Hedin (SR-Dassel/Dassel-Cokato) took seventh in the triple jump (36-10 1-4) and Nicole Meidl (FR-Stillwater) was 14th in the pole vault (9-10 3-4). Only the top six placers earn team points.

Tommies failed to advance to the finals in three other events Friday. Mike Gruba ran 1:54.77 and missed the finals in the men's 800; Tish Dusich ran 2:16.26 and missed the finals in the women's 800; and Heckman ran 6.58 and didn't advance in the 55 meters.
