Track gets 4 provisional times
Men's and
women's results from the Sat. April 12 St. Thomas Invitational
track and field meet can be accessed here:
The St. Thomas men's track and field team had six firsts and
two NCAA provisional times, and the Tommie women had three
firsts and two NCAA provisional times at Saturday's St. Thomas
Invite. No team scores were kept.
Tommie Men
Tore Evenson won the javelin (169-9); Brian Preus won the
5,000 (14:49.67); Jason Schweitz won the 400 (49.03); Bryce
Beckman won the 800 (1:56.07); and the Toms won the

4x100
(41.87) and 4x400 (3:20.06) relays. Preus' time and the 4x100
relay time both met the NCAA provisional qualifying standards.
Andrew Hilliard took second in the 400 hurdles (54.09), just
off the providional qualifying time of 54.00; Joe Thomas was
second in the high jump (6-6 3-4) and fourth in the triple
jump (42-9); Andrew Kisielius was second in the triple jump
(43-10 3-4); and Carson Glad was second in the 200 (22.10) and
third in the 100 (10.91).
Thirds were recorded by Corey Fusco in the 800 (1:57.72);
Chris Mattke in the 400 hurdles (55.86); Jason Simmons in the
110 hurdles (16.26); Ryan Hatteberg in the long jump (19-9);
and Dave Diercks in the javelin (166-5).
Fourths were recorded by Roman Cress in the 100 (11.05); Tom
Hart in the 200 (23.02); Shaun Sharpe in the 400 (50.33);
Robert Ware in the 800 (1:57.82); and Levi Severson in the
5,000 (15:06.6).
Fifths were recorded by Mattke in the 110 hurdles (16.68);
Nick Schleder in the 400 hurdles (59.05).
St. Thomas will have some athletes in next weekend's Kansas
Relays in Lawrence, Kan., and the rest of its squad at next
Saturday's Carleton Invite.
Tommie women
Mollie Hupp (57.38) led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 400 meters as she
was followed by Teresa Smock (58.61) and Alicia Wolff (60.83).
The Toms also won the 4x100 relay (49.07).
Heidi Vogel won the 200 (25.85) was fifth in the triple jump
(34-10 1/2) and was third in the 100 (12.53). Jill Ylonen was
second in the 100 (12.48), second in the 200 (26.06) and third
in the long jump (17-4 3-4).
Karolien Bastiaens was second in the pole valut (11-9 3/4).
Thirds were recorded by Tish Dusich in the steeplechase
(12:00.12); Brigid Power in the 1,500 (4:51.88); Hupp in the
200 (26.36); and Erika Wetzel in the javelin (106-00).
Fourths were recorded by Christie Thames in the pole vault
(9-9 3/4); and Andretta Colley in the long jump (16-5 1-4).
Fifths were scored by Molly Bauman in the 100 hurdles (16.24);
Kristal Grigsby in the 200 (27.01); Crystal Baloun in the
hammer (129-4); and Callie Peotter in the javelin (99-2).
