Masters in Theology

The Master of Arts in Theology is a research based degree offered by the Department of Theology in conjunction with the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity. The degree introduces students to the broad tradition of Catholic theology, through core and elective courses, a thesis or research portfolio, language study and comprehensive examinations. It might be taken as a terminal degree for those who wish to teach in Catholic schools, in Archdiocesan offices or in a parish, but it is also intended to prepare students for doctoral work in all fields of Catholic theology.  Please contact the Director of the Master of Arts in theology, Dr. John W. Martens, for more information on the degree at 651-962-5316 or
