"A Sundy Afternoon"
The Greek Connection, Greece
This photo was taken in the National Garden of Athens while studying in Greece. Captured in the photo are a group of men enjoying a “friendly” game of chess. I passed these men on a Sunday afternoon while on a walking tour of Athens. They reminded me of the simple pleasures in life, as well as how laid back the Greek culture is.

Saint Louis University; Madrid Spain
While on an immersion trip to Morocco last semester, a group of students from Saint Louis University-Madrid and I traveled to the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Located in the Sahara Desert in the southeastern part of the country, the dunes are completely surrounded by what seems like an infinite stretch of a flat, desolate landscape. To get to them, we sped through this rocky, barren land until a huge mountain of orange sand appeared as if out of nowhere The sand was soft and hot, so we rode a caravan of camels into the heart of the dunes where we spent the night in a nomadic Berber encampment. Of course the idea of riding a camel was quite exciting and definitely an adventure, but I assure you that the hump of a dromedary is not the most comfortable seat in the world. And when your camel starts to slide down the side of a dune as if trying to launch you over its head, you'd better hold on tight!

The Center for Cross Cultural Study; Seville, Spain.
This picture was taken on April 27, 2008, at the Plaza de Toros de Sevilla in Sevilla, Spain. The bullfight was a "novillada," meaning the matadors were young and the bulls were slightly smaller and younger than the bulls that are used in normal bullfights. This matador won the ear of one of the bulls he fought because he did such a good job!

Central College; Bangor, Wales
This picture perfectly represents my semester abroad. I was living in Wales, where it rains year-round, and the rain followed me throughout my travels, as well. Paris was no exception. However, we didn't let that ruin our spring break. On our final day, as we made our way down the hill after visiting the Sacre-Coeur Basilica, I looked up and saw the Eiffel Tower, perfectly framed between the rooftops and the trees, looking out over the city. Despite the rain and the mist, or perhaps because of it, it was beautiful.

London Business Semester; Scotland
This photo is a picture of the Elian Donan castle in northern Scotland. I took this picture in October of 2007 while I was on a weekend trip with the London Business Semester students. After we toured the inside of the castle we walked back across the bridge to the exact viewpoint where this photo was taken. Before journeying on, we all enjoyed a small glass of whiskey as we took in the beautiful Scotland scenery.

Butler Valparaiso, Chile; Machu Picchu, Peru
While my friends and I were resting on a terrace, a baby Peruvian llama approached us and guided our eyes to the mysterious ruins below. The ancient city of Machu Picchu, illuminated by the South American sun, conjured foggy images of the Incan civilization that once thrived among the peaks of the Andes.
