Throwing Open the Shutters
Overlooking the Amo River in Florence, Italy, the Ponte Vecchio, or "Old Bridge" hosts a barrage of tiny shops. The back sides of the shops throw open their shutters to another bustling Italian morning. These bright Florentine shutters reflect the equally vibrant Italian culture.

A Reflection of Bruges
Bruges in December was beautiful. The canals, small pointed rooftops and intimate streets created such a wonderful, cozy and historic feeling.

A Wonder of the World
Set several miles from the bustling city of Cairo, the Great Pyramids of Giza are a daily reminder of the significant richness this land offers. Egypt embodies the spirit of the pharos depicted throughout the culture, arts and historical residue. Standing next to the pyramids, one gains an appreciation for the tremendous complexity, size and magnificent beauty these structures represent.

Elephant Crossing
We were on a safari in Kenya. Our driver woke us up early one morning to go on a game drive. It was amazing to see these huge animals in their natural space and their reaction to our invasion of it. This group of elephants were the first to cross in front of our van.

In This Life
The tropical downpours of Cambodia do not prohibit the eagerness of these village children. Gazing with inquisition, desperate for attention and compassion this photo is a bone chilling reminder of the great fortune this nation possess. The eyes of these children captivate the human spirit and exemplify the beauty interaction.

A Boy from Tamil Nadu
We went to a rural Indian village for a day. The villagers welcomed us with music, smiling school children shaking our hands, flower garlands, and a blessing on our heads. This boy was one of the many children there to greet us; each eager to get his or her photo taken.

A Venice Couple on Sunday Afternoon
I took this photo because these two individuals represent the unseen lifestyle in Venice-away from the madness of what has become a largely tourists driven economy. They represent what Venice was and what it could be again.

Living History
I took this picture in the sacred abbey of San Michele, a medieval abbey built high on a mountaintop near Turin, Italy. I was struck by the abbey's profound peacefulness and its rich history. In this photo, time seems to stand still for a moment as an old man gazes through a sunlit doorway, captivated by the mystery of the sacred place.

Canals of Venice
While exploring the tiny streets that are a maze in Venice, I was walking across on of the many little bridges when I came upon this scene. This is exactly how I pictured Venice to be, with little canals and gondoliers wearing the black and white striped shirts, guiding their boats on the tiny waterways.
