Photo Contest

Deadline: October 15

Criteria:

Each photo may be entered into one of the following judged categories:

  • An Intercultural Experience - this is about people; the meeting and mixing of cultures
  • A Sense of Place - this is about places and scenery; capturing the unique atmosphere of the country you visited.

Eligibility:

Photographer must be a St. Thomas student in conjunction with a St. Thomas study, work or volunteer overseas program.

How to Submit Photos:

  • Each photo is a single entry and must be accompanied by the Photo Contest Entry Form.
  • Photos or slides may be in color or black and white.
  • Prints of digital photos must be of highest quality (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Limit of three submissions for each category.
  • Your name must be on the back of each photo, written on tape or a post-it note so you do not damage the photo.

Drop off unmounted entries in a flat package to the International Education Center, 44 N. Cleveland, St. Paul Campus, or send to: Mail 44C.

If selected, your award-winning work will be rewarded with either a $100 first prize or $50 second prize, and may be reproduced in a university publication for advertising, design, editorial and other areas of communication.

The Fine Print: Winners will be notified in October and will be asked to submit digital images of the winning photo(s). Each entry becomes St. Thomas property; thus, photos will not be returned. Submission of an entry acknowledges the right of St. Thomas to use it for exhibition and publication.
